BRIDGEWATER, NJ — She's the one that loved you first, but mom is much more than that. She’s a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on — and maybe one of the toughest women you’ve ever met.
We asked Patch readers in more than 1,000 communities to tell us what their moms mean to them. Nearly 200 people responded, paying tribute not just to moms but sometimes to grandmas, sisters and daughters who deserve recognition for Mother’s Day 2021.
Here’s what Katelyn Moya of Parlin had to say about mom Ann of Edison :

Dear Mom, I used to think I knew who much you loved my brothers and I. After having our two beautiful girls, I really knew how much you love us. You were alway there for us, and willing to help us, but until I became a mother myself I could never fully understand what you felt. Now I can say I truly know how deep your loves runs for your children. How you would do anything to give us the best life possible, how you would give anything to see us happy. I understand because that is how I feel about my daughters. I want you to know that I have always felt your love. Even when we disappointed you or made you upset, I never once doubted your love for us. You have raised incredibly strong children, and I hope you are proud of yourself. You are such an incredible Mother, and I am so grateful I have you to look up to. We all love you so much. I hope that I raise my daughters the way you raised us, and am so thankful that you are their Gma. Happy Mother's Mom!!! Love Always, and Katie Girl
