Man Charged After 10 Possible Shots Fired In Somerset County

MANVILLE, NJ — A North Brunswick man was charged in connection to 10 possible gunshots fired in Manville on Sunday.

Kevin Salmeron, 20, of Livingston Avenue, North Brunswick was charged with second-degree attempted aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon without a permit, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Officers were told there were 10 possible gunshots being fired and searched the area but did not find an active shooter, said Robertson.

No injuries or property damages were reported.

Salmeron was found to be involved in the shooting following an investigation by the detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Manville Police Department.

On June 24 at about 2 p.m., Salmeron was taken into custody at his home without incident. He was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
