New Year's Day Crash, Driver Charged With DWI In Bridgewater

The vehicle crossed the center double yellow lines and rolled over several times before coming to a rest, said Bridgewater Police.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ ? A driver was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing on New Year's Day in Bridgewater.

On Jan. 1 at around 3:48 a.m., Bridgewater Township Police Officers went to the intersection of Finderne Avenue and 2nd Street for a report of an overturned vehicle.

Maria R. Marinhull, 29, from Bound Brook, was driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra south on Finderne Avenue when the car crossed over the center double yellow lines, rolled over several times, and came to rest on the southeast corner of the intersection, said Bridgewater Police.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash.

Marinhull was arrested on scene for driving while intoxicated and subsequently issued summons for reckless driving, careless driving and driving while intoxicated.

The Finderne Fire Department came out to help at the scene. The fire department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.

Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
