Patriots Victory Finishes 2020 Season
A 1-0 Patriots victory brought the Somerset Professional Baseball Series to a close.

The Somerset Patriots (9-4) concluded their successful efforts to bring professional baseball back to New Jersey with a victory in the finale of the Somerset Professional Baseball Series. The Patriots defeated the New Jersey Blasters (4-9) by a score of 1-0.
The sole run of the ballgame came on a double off the bat of Patriots’ Justin Pacchiolli on which Jordan Jackson scored in the sixth inning.
Both starting pitchers dazzled. Blasters’ Alex Vargas threw five shutout innings, allowing only one hit, and Patriots’ Mark Leiter Jr. tossed five scoreless innings, striking out five batters. Nate Roe (4-0) earned the win for the Patriots with his scoreless sixth inning of work, and James Pugliese got the save. Vin Aiello (0-2) got the loss.
