Prosecutor Takes Over Warren Township Police, Investigation Underway

WARREN, NJ ? The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office(SCPO) has taken over the Warren Township Police and an investigation is underway.

"The Somerset County Prosecutor?s Office has assumed command of the Warren Township Police Department until an internal affairs investigation is completed. The Somerset County Prosecutor?s Office cannot comment further at this time due to the nature of the investigation," said SCPO Chief of County Detectives Frank Roman Jr. to Patch.

The Prosecutor's Office took control of the police department effective Dec. 20, 2023.

The SCPO did not disclose the reasoning for the takeover.
