Raritan Electrician Passes Away At Age 79

Frederick Dirla, Sr., owner of Dirla Electrical Services, died on Friday, Sept. 6 at his home in Raritan after a long illness.

RARITAN, NJ — Frederick Dirla, Sr., 79, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6 at his home in Raritan after a long illness.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Raritan for 39 years. He served in the Navy for four years. He worked for Western Electric and is the Owner of Dirla Electrical Services. He was an Officer and member of the NJSECA. He was a member of the 4 County Electrical Contractors Association. He ran the NJ Electrical Contractors DPK Charity Golf Tournament for four years. He was also a member of the Elks of Somerville.

He was predeceased by his brother John of Long Island and Albert of Texas. He is survived by his
beloved wife, Nancy (Newton) Dirla, and his beloved Golden Retriever, Parker, his daughter Susan Hughes of Keyport, his son Frederick Dirla, Jr. and wife Patricia of Bridgewater, his stepson Adam Papera of Hillsborough and grandsons Michael and Nicholas Dirla.
