Ready For Snow: Bridgewater Prepared To Tackle Storm
For the first time in two years, Bridgewater Township may receive some measurable snow this weekend.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ ? As a cross-country winter storm makes its way to Bridgewater, the Township says they are ready.
"The Bridgewater Department of Public Works has township spreaders and plows prepped and ready for deployment. In the event that additional help is needed the Township is contracted with two private plow companies to provided additional assistance," said Township Administrator Michael Pappas to Patch.
The National Weather Service(NWS) Mount Holly released a snowfall total predictions map on Thursday showing Bridgewater could possibly get 1 to 2 inches of snow. Read More: Latest NJ Snow Total Predictions For Impending Winter Storm

"As with any storm, the priority will be the maintenance of snow emergency routes and ensuring that our emergency services stations are clear before moving on to residential areas," said Pappas.
The Township's Department of Public Works is also working with the Bridgewater Police and OEM officials, who will be standing by with open channels of communication to residents as well as State and County governments.

"Property owners are reminded of their responsibility to remove snow and ice from sidewalks. Residents are also encouraged to utilize off-street parking during snow storms. Cars parked on the roadway during snow plowing operations limit the ability to effectively plow the street which can lead to prolonged ice build-up," said Pappas.
The storm is expected to hit Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon and remain through Sunday.
Here is a look at the weekend forecast:
Saturday: A chance of snow between 1 and 4 p.m., then snow likely, possibly mixed with rain. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday Night: Rain and snow. Low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Sunday: A chance of rain and snow before 4 p.m., then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
