The New Jersey Department of Transportation has also set up detours for traffic. Rivenbark expects the highway to remain closed for the next few hours, which will most likely go into the evening commute hours.
As a result, Route 28 is a mess and Rivenbark suggests drivers avoid the area and take alternate routes such as Interstate 78 or Interstate 287 to get around the closure.
