SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — For the second year in a row, the Somerset County 4-H Fair is canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

The fair had been held annually in August at North Branch Park in Bridgewater since 1947. It had to be canceled for the first time ever in 73 years in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Since the fair is "a large public event with thousands of people in attendance" it will once again have to be canceled for 2021, according to the fair's website.

"Instead there will be a smaller non-public event which will allow our 4-H families to celebrate together," the 4-H website stated.

The fair's planning committee is working on planning the private event and will share updates as it gets closer to the date.
