Somerville Driving Instructor Sexually Touched Students: Police

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A Somerville driving instructor was charged with touching students in a sexual manner during driving sessions in surrounding towns, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Steven Collucci, 59, of N. Clark Avenue in Somerville, who worked as a driving instructor at Dill's Driving School at 205 W Main St. in Somerville at the time of the crimes, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual contact. Collucci no longer works at the driving school.

In June 2020, a student, who was 16 years old at the time, reported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office that while driving in the area of Bridgewater and Hillsborough in June of 2017 during a driving school instruction, the child was touched in a sexual manner by Collucci, said Robertson.

In January 2021, a second student, also 16 years old at the time, reported that during a driving school instruction session in February 2019 in the area of New Brunswick, the child was also touched in a sexual manner by Collucci, said Robertson.

This past Thursday, Collucci was arrested without incident at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

Collucci was taken to the Somerset County Jail.

Anyone with information relating to these sexual contacts is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit Detective Reyes at 908-575-3371. All calls will be kept confidential. Information can also be relayed via the STOPit app.
