Overturned Truck Topples Utility Pole On Route 28 In Branchburg
Both sides of the highway were closed for several hours as a result on Wednesday.
BRANCHBURG, NJ — An overturned truck toppled a utility pole causing a portion of Eastern Turnpike (Route 28) to close in both directions in Branchburg on Wednesday afternoon.
North Branch Volunteer Fire Company Deputy 49 got to the crash first to find the Ram pickup truck had left the roadway, overturned, collided with a telephone pole/guardrail and stopped just short of hitting a home, according to North Branch Volunteer Fire Company.
NBVFC Rescue 49, Engine 49-8 and Engine 24 (Country Hills) all helped. North Branch crews returned after about 4 hours.

The highway closed around 11:45 a.m. between Church and Station Road. It has since reopened.
