Transformer Fire Closes Route 22 In Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A transformer fire has caused a portion of Route 22 East in Bridgewater to close Tuesday afternoon.

Route 22 eastbound is closed from Country Club Road to Route 202/206, Bridgewater Police sain in an alert around 1:05 p.m.

Drivers are asked to avoid traveling on the roadway during Tropical Storm Isaias.

Hundreds are also without power in the township and multiple trees and wires are down due to the storm. Check out the latest storm updates here.
