Union Township Animal Shelter Mourns Death Of Employee

A funeral will be held on Monday for James J. Kielwasser II, 43, of Bridgewater who was an employee of the Union Township Animal Shelter.

UNION, NJ — The Union Township Animal Shelter is mourning the loss of an employee, James J. Kielwasser II, 43, of Bridgewater who died Tuesday. The funeral mass will be at St. Michael Church 1212 Kelly Street (corner of Vauxhall Road) Union on Monday April 24 at 10:15 a.m. Cremation will be held privately. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

"Jay will be sorely missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and his countless animal friends. Our deepest condolences..." the shelter posted.

James J. Kielwasser II 43 , of Bridgewater passed away on Tuesday April 18, 2017.

Born in Livingston, NJ he lived in Union, before moving to Bridgewater 30 years ago.

He was the Animal Control Officer for the Township of Union for 15 years. He was also a member of
the Animal Control Association of New Jersey.

James was married to his wife Brooke H. ( nee Glassman) they had been together for 3 years. He is the son Antoinette Kielwasser (nee Russo) and is the grandson of Lorenzina and the late Dominick Russo. He is also the nephew of Joseph Russo and the late Mario Russo, as well as the cousin of Dominick, Anthony, and Marie Elena.

He will be greatly missed by his many loving pets.
