She said police were searching for a "person of interest" Thursday.

The Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School was in lockdown for a very brief time Thursday while police were in pursuit of a "person of interest," according to principal Diane Ziegler.

Ziegler said that Bridgewater Police informed the school that they were looking for a "person of interest" in the area of the school around 12:05 p.m. Thursday.

"As such, we were advised to go into lockdown mode for a very brief time, 5 minutes possibly," she said.

It was not long before they received the all-clear, Ziegler said. At that point, she said, the school resumed normal activity.

"At no point did an intruder enter any of our buildings," she said. "I was informed that the person they were looking for was found in the woods on the perimeter of our campus."
