After Delays, Settlement Looms On Cinnaminson Lidl
Cinnaminson officials expect to reach a settlement agreement with German grocery giant Lidl on Friday.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson is expecting to close with German-based grocery giant Lidl on Friday, paving the way for the construction of a new store in Cinnaminson.
Cinnaminson Township Committee approved a resolution to extend the closing date for the proposed supermarket during its meeting Monday night. It is the fifth time the closing date has been extended.
“Due to COVID-19 related issues, this project was delayed a bit,” Cinnaminson Township Administrator Eric Schubiger had told Patch in an email last week. “However, the township expects settlement on the project in the next few weeks, and Lidl has indicated that site work will begin approximately one week after settlement.”

“We are looking to settle with Lidl this Friday, which would help the project move forward,” Cinnaminson Mayor Ryan Horner said Monday night.
The German grocery store giant has targeted the former Garden State Inn at the intersection of Route 130 South and Highland Avenue as the spot for its new store. The possibility of Lidl coming to Cinnaminson was first reported in 2017. Read more here: Supermarket Giant Lidl May Be Coming To Cinnaminson
