Burlington County Vigil To Remember Lives Lost To Overdose

Last year, 3,046 New Jerseyans died form suspected overdose deaths, according to Gov. Phil Murphy's office.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Family and friends are invited to a candlelight vigil to remember and honor loved ones who've died from drug overdoses. The event, "A Night of Tribute & Support," is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 31.

According to organizers, it's scheduled to take place at the Burlington County Amphitheater, which is at 5 Pioneer Blvd. in Westampton, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In addition to the vigil, there will be live music, a remembrance slideshow and several guest speakers.

The event is hosted by the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, King's Crusade, Burlington County and Burlington County Coalition for Healthy Communities.

Last year, 3,046 New Jerseyans died form suspected overdose deaths, closely comparable to 3,021 suspected overdose deaths in 2019, during a year impacted by the challenges and complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Phil Murphy's office said.
