Cinnaminson Boys, Girls Soccer Teams Off To Fast Starts

The Cinnaminson High School boys and girls soccer teams have combined for five wins in the first week of the season.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson High School boys and girls soccer teams have combined for five wins in the first week of action, according to reports posted on nj.com.

The Cinnaminson boys are 2-0, with wins over Cherry Hill West and Burlington Township.
Matt Blair, George Katsiotis and CJ Gee each scored a goal in the boys’ 3-0 season opening win over Cherry Hill West, according to nj.com. Goalie Sean Kennedy had six saves.

Kennedy made 15 saves in Cinnaminson’s 2-0 win over Burlington Township. Gee had his second goal of the season. Josh Pereira also had a goal in the win.

The Cinnaminson girls are 3-1 with wins over Cherry Hill West, Kingsway and Northern Burlington, and a loss to Williamstown.

Sarah Passey and Emma Karch each scored in the girls’ 2-1 season opening over Cherry Hill West, according to nj.com.

The Pirates’ first loss of the season came in the second game, when they fell 1-0 to Williamstown in overtime. Kayla Dougherty scored the winning goal for Williamstown.

Karch scored her second goal of the season in Cinnaminson’s 2-1 win over Kingsway. Emma Fuegel also scored, as the Pirates came back from a halftime deficit for the win.

The Pirates picked up their third win of the season when they downed Northern Burlington, 3-1, behind goals from Katie Ambros, Meredith Updike and Sarah Bergan.
