Cinnaminson Girls Soccer Team Falls In Sectional Final
The Cinnaminson High School girls soccer team fell to Haddonfield in the South Jersey Group 2 final on Thursday.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson High School girls soccer team’s run for a championship has come to an end. Cinnaminson fell to Haddonfield, 3-0, in theNJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship game on Thursday, according to nj.com.
Jordan Siok, Katie McCormick and Keegan Douglas scored for Haddonfield in the win. It was thethird time in four years they played in the championship game, with Haddonfield winning in 2016, and Cinnaminson taking home the championship in 2017, according to nj.com. Last year, Cinnaminson eliminated Haddonfield from the playoffs in the quarterfinals.
Haddonfield improved to 17-4-2, and will face Central Jersey Champion Wall in the state semifinals at Hopewell Valley Tuesday night, 6 p.m. Cinnaminson wrapped up its season with a record of 15-6-2.

Cinnaminson had been in a series of close games this playoff season. In the first round, Cinnaminson edged No. 15 Oakcrest, 2-1, with both goals coming in the second half. Emma Fuegel and Sarah Bergan scored the goals, with assists from Meredith Updike and Kayla Decker.
Cinnaminson took a two-goal lead into halftime against No. 7 West Deptford and held on for a 4-3 win in the quarterfinals. Bergan had two goals and an assist in the win, and Fuegel and Updike each had a goal.

The Pirates went to overtime, but shut out No. 3 Delsea, 1-0, in the sectional semifinals. Bergan scored the game-winner with an assist from Updike.
In advancing to the state tournament, Haddonfield has outscored its opponents, 20-1. Haddonfield surrendered its only goal of the playoffs in its 8-1 first round win over No. 16 Manchester Township. Katie McCormick had a hat trick in that game.
Haddonfield shut out No. 8 Cedar Creek, 4-0, in the quarterfinals. McCormick and Jordan Siok each scored twice in the win. Keegan Douglas had two assists, and Sara Smith had one for the Bulldawgs.
Haddonfield advanced to the South Jersey final with a 5-0 win over No. 5 Pinelands in the semifinals. McCormick had two goals and goalie Maya Olimpio made eight saves.
