Cinnaminson Mayor: 'Stay Out Of The Sun'
The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for the surrounding area Wednesday until 8 p.m.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson Mayor Albert Segrest and the township committee are warning residents to keep cool by staying out of the heat. The warning comes after the National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for the surrounding area Wednesday until 8 p.m.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors," the mayor said via Facebook.
In addition, young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances, weather experts warn.

Wednesday's forecast calls for a high of 98 degrees. Things will cool off at night with a low of 75 degrees and 50 percent chance of thunderstorms. More rain with a chance of thunderstorms are in the forecast starting Friday and through the weekend.
Extreme heat and humidity increases the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities, according to the National Weather Service.

Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Some signs to look for include headache, flushed skin, altered mental state, rapid breathing, nausea, high body temperature, dizziness, pale skin, tiredness and muscle cramps.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
