Cinnaminson Schools Launch Full-Day Kindergarten Program

A full-day kindergarten program will launch in the Cinnaminson Public School District this fall.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A full-day kindergarten program will launch in the Cinnaminson Public School District this fall, the Board of Education announced this week.

The program, aimed at preparing the township’s youngest learners for success, will be offered at New Albany School. It will begin with about 170 kindergarteners, which officials said is comparable to the current school year.

“With our ever-changing world, it is more critical than ever that we support our children and provide the skills needed to prepare them for the future,” Cinnaminson Superintendent of Schools Stephen Cappello said. “We look forward to utilizing this opportunity to place a greater emphasis on foundational skills at the start of elementary school that will ultimately foster a smooth transition into first grade.”

The program is funded by strategic budgeting by the Board of Education, and funding from the state coupled with use of capital reserve funding helped to make staffing and space available to launch this program, school officials said.

To be eligible for full-day kindergarten, children must be Cinnaminson residents and be five years old on or before October 1, 2021. Registration can be completed online via the district website.
