Cinnaminson Valedictorian, Salutatorian Were Honored By State

Matthew Blair is Cinnaminson's Valedictorian, and Michael York is the high school's Salutatorian.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Two Cinnaminson High School seniors who were recognized by the state have been named the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian for the 2020-21 academic year.

Matthew Blair, who will graduate with an overall GPA of 105.1, has been named the school’s valedictorian, the Cinnaminson Public School District announced.

In February, Blair was awarded the New Jersey State Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. He is a three-year recipient of the Burlington County Principal and Supervisor Association Award which recognizes the top sophomore, junior and senior at each Burlington County high school.

Blair scored a 1510 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, and he took 21 Honors and AP Courses during his time at Cinnaminson High School.

He has participated in the Global Economic Forum, Consumer Bowl, the International Student Summit, World Affairs Council, Model Student Senate, Adventure Fitness Club, Spanish Club, and Physics Olympics.

Blair was inducted into the National Honors Society as a junior, and he has been the president of the Class of 2021 all four years of his high school career.

He has been a varsity player on the high school soccer team since sophomore year, and was elected captain of his freshman team. He is also a four-year member of the high school baseball team and the starting second baseman on the varsity team this year.

Michael York, who will graduate with an overall GPA of 103.83, has been named the school’s salutatorian.

In February, York was awarded the New Jersey State Seal of Biliteracy in French. He scored a 1420 on the SAT and a 33 on the ACT, and he took 20 Honors and AP Courses during his time at Cinnaminson High School.

York was a member of the Math League, French Club, Physics Olympics, Multicultural Club, and a founding member of the Technology Student Association. He was inducted into the National Honors Society as a junior and served as their secretary as a senior.

York is a talented musician and a four-year member of our Advanced Strings Ensemble. He has also been a varsity runner on the CHS Cross Country team since sophomore year. He will study Computer Engineering at Union College.

Cinnaminson High School's graduation will take place June 22, 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the stadium.
