Code Blue In Burlington County Extended Through Thursday
A Code Blue will now be in effect for Burlington County through Thursday morning.
A Code Blue Weather Alert that has been in effect for Burlington County since last week has been extended for two more nights, officials announced on Tuesday. The Code Blue that expired at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning will be reinstated at 7 p.m. It will then be in effect through 8 a.m. Thursday, officials announced. Officials will then review and assess upcoming weather forecasts. The current alert went into effect last Thursday.
“A Code Blue declaration is made in Burlington County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter,” Burlington County Freeholder Director Felicia Hopson said. “When a Code Blue is enacted, it provides for short-term emergency sheltering.”
During normal business hours, public buildings are available as warming centers. For information on overnight emergency shelters, call 211.

“During a Code Blue declaration, we encourage residents to stay indoors in heated areas,” Hopson said. “Extreme cold weather can be just as dangerous as extremely hot weather. This is the time to watch out for those most vulnerable among us, especially children and older adults. Caution also should be taken with pets during extremely cold temperatures.”
Residents should report any power outages directly to the appropriate utility provider list below:
