Former Westfield Friends Meeting Member Passes

Robert Heal , MD. passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the age of 93. Born in Moorestown, NJ, on October 8, 1924, Dr. Heal graduated from Moorestown High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He attended Drexel Institute, Phila., Illinois Tech., Chicago, and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Dr. Heal graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine with a BS degree in Medicine in 1947 and a MD degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1949.

After graduation, he interned at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN and had a general practice residency at Chester Hospital, Chester, Pa. and practiced family medicine there for 35 years, retiring in 1989.
He was on staff of Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital, Riverside, NJ member of Burlington Co. and NJ Medical Societies.

He was a member of Westfield Friends Meeting in Cinnaminson, NJ, Delanco Senior Citizens and former member of the Brant Beach Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing, swimming and crafts.

Husband of 60 years of the late Marjorie Jessup Heal. Survived by his Sister in law Dorothy Ott and several Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Westfield friends Meeting House, 2201 Riverton Rd, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions to American Heart Association or charity of Donor’s Choice.
