Impersonator Pays Tribute To Mentor Joan Rivers In South Jersey

VOORHEES, NJ - A tribute artist inspired by the late Joan Rivers is paying tribute to the woman who helped start her career. Elaine Chez impersonates some of the greatest legends in the entertainment business, and she will be giving her impression of mentor Joan Rivers in South Jersey twice next month.

The New York native was originally training to be a Radio City Music Hall Rockette. It was the real Joan Rivers, however, who encouraged her to become a tribute artist. She even had Chez work with her on several occasions before her unfortunate death in 2014.

Chez will perform at Lions Gate Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Her first show is free and open to the public. She will repeat her performance from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Lions Gate residents. Her act will include many of Joan Rivers’ classic jokes and her infamous Fashion Police critiques from the Award Shows red carpets.
