Cinnaminson Woman Suffers Smoke Inhalation in House Fire

A woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire started in the living room of her home Saturday morning, authorities said. 

Firefighters were dispatched to the home in the 2600 block of Barton Court at 11:38 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the one-story home. Firefighters were able to control the blaze in about eight minutes, said Cinnaminson Deputy Fire Chief Ira Schonfeld. 

"It really helped that we had a crew in the station that was able to respond quickly and get the fire knocked down," he said. 

The female resident, whose identity was not released, was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, and taken to Cooper University Hosptial in Camden. 

Schonfeld said he believes the woman lives alone in the home.

Property tax records list the owners of the home as David and Mary Capece.  

The fire was contained to the living room, dining room and kitchen; the rest of the house suffered minor smoke damage, according to Schonfeld. 

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Saturday. 

In addition to Cinnaminson Fire Department, engines from Lenola and Pennsauken, as well as an ambulance from Palymrya, responded to the fire.
