Where To Pick Your Own Apples, Pumpkins In South Jersey In 2020

These local farms and orchards are perfect for some fall family fun, with many offering hay rides, corn mazes and cider donuts.

With autumn quickly approaching, it's almost time for apple and pumpkin picking season. New Jersey is known for its beautiful apple orchards, and there's no shortage of pumpkin patches.

We've complied a list of some of the best pick-your-own farms in South Jersey for the fall of 2020; most offer other activities for families to enjoy, like hayrides and cider donuts.

Russo's Fruit and Vegetable Farm, 529 Medford Lakes Road, Tabernacle, Burlington County

Pick your own pumpkins at Russo's Annex on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 25 through Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There will be no wagon rides to the fields this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pumpkin patch is located in close walking distance to the store and corn maze. The corn maze is $3 per person and pumpkins are 69 cents a pound. There will be no apple picking this year due to the pandemic.

Johnson's Corner Farm, 133 Church Road, Medford, Burlington County

They offer apple and pumpkin picking hayrides from Sept. 12 to Oct. 18; pumpkin picking hayrides and the corn maze from Sept. 12 to Nov. 1; the sunflower celebration from Sept. 12-27; and sweet potato, broccoli and cauliflower hayrides from Nov. 1-22. It is recommended that all rides be reserved for a weekday to avoid peak times and reserving rides ahead of time online. Weekday pricing has been discounted.

Mood's Farm Market, 901 Bridgeton Pike, Mullica Hill, Gloucester County

Hayrides for apple picking and pumpkin picking are canceled this year due to the coronavirus, but residents can still drive to the fields and pick their own. There is also a decorated walking path to pick small pumpkins. Picking hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers should bring their own containers and wear a mask.

Duffields Farm, 280 Chapel Heights Road, Sewell, Gloucester County

A Friends and Family Wagon Ride is offered for up to 25 guests. It includes a hayride, a pumpkin for each guest and a tent for one hour after the hayride is finished. Cost is $350. There are also regular hayrides available for $5, and hayrides and pumpkin picking for $12. There is also a corn maze and barnyard express.
