Cookie Dough Shop Opening In Menlo Park Mall
Dough Life will serve up safe-to-eat raw cookie dough.

EDISON, NJ — Forget what your parents told you about eating raw cookie dough: Dough Life, a new dessert shop opening in Menlo Park Mall, specializes in safe-to-eat cookie dough.
Dough Life will be located inside the mall near the Auntie Anne's and the PacSun, and will start serving up cookie dough scoops on Wednesday, May 23. An exact opening time that day hasn't been determined yet.
The dough is made without eggs and using heat-treated flours, which kills microbes that are sometimes in raw flour, making it safe to eat raw, Dough Life owner Joseph Francabandeiro said.

Prices range from $5 for a small to $10 for a large, which the menu says is big enough to be a "true team effort." Toppings can be added on for 50 cents more. Flavors include M&M, brownie batter, caramel, peanut butter, and a flavor of the month that will rotate.
Raw cookie dough exploded in popularity after Cookie Do opened a storefront location in Manhattan last January. Since then, local cookie dough shops have popped in across the country. In addition to the Menlo Park location, Dough Life has New Jersey stores in Freehold, Deptford and Paramus, and are opening in Cherry Hill and Eatontown soon.
