Crash Closes Major Road At Edison, Metuchen Border

EDISON, NJ — A mid-afternoon crash has closed a major road at the Edison and Metuchen border leading into Wednesday's rush hour, Edison police said.

New Durham Road and Kester Drive are closed as of 4:45 p.m., police said, as an accident investigation takes place. Drivers are asked to take an alternate route or prepare for severe delays.

The severity of the crash was not immediately known. It was not clear when the road might reopen.
