Downed Pole Closes Rt. 1, Rt. 27 In Edison

EDISON, NJ — A downed pole has closed two major roads in Edison ahead of Friday's drive home.

Route One south and two lanes of Route 27 are closed at Plainfield Ave due to a downed pole, Edison police said at 2:35 p.m. It was not immediately clear when Route One would reopened.

Update: 3:29 p.m.: Rt. 27 has reopened.

Edison has been mostly spared from power outages during the nor'easter. Only 44 homes are in the dark as of 2:38 p.m.
