Driver In Metuchen Hit-And-Run Caught: Prosecutor
A man was arrested and charged in a Monday hit-and-run that left a utility worker critically injured, prosecutors said.

METUCHEN – A man was arrested and charged in a Monday hit-and-run that critically injured a utility worker, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.
Paddy Flynn, 18, of Toms River was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury and other offenses, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
At approximately 9:01 a.m. on Monday, Flynn was driving a white Ford F 250 pickup truck and struck a utility worker in the crosswalk at the intersection of Middlesex Avenue and Grove Avenue. He then fled the scene, the MCPO said.

The 51-year old utility worker from Whippany who was struck remains in critical condition, the MCPO said.

Law enforcement sought assistance in identifying the driver of a white pick up truck who was seen near the incident. That driver contacted authorities and was ultimately determined to be a witness, the MCPO said.

That contact aided the investigation that lead to the identification of Flynn, the MCPO said.
Flynn is scheduled for his initial court appearance via video on Tuesday afternoon in New Brunswick Superior Court.
