Edison Mayor, Councilman Demand Justice In Racist Flyer Incident
Mayor Thomas Lankey and Council President Bob Diehl ask NJ Attorney General and Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office to solve the 2017 case.

EDISON, NJ — Mayor Thomas Lankey and Council President Bob Diehl urged New Jersey Attorney General’s office and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office to step in and bring to justice those involved in the Edison racist flyer incident from 2017.
Lankey and Diehl held a press conference Wednesday evening and expressed “frustration” at the lack of progress in the case.
Wednesday’s conference comes a day after Lankey released a public statement citing a report in the New Jersey Globe, detailing an alleged conspiracy by Edison’s elected officials.

Lankey said he was “appalled” after reading the transcript of the audio recording.
“The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office investigation into how a racist flyer was circulated has been allegedly going on for more than three years but, to date, no one has been held accountable for this horrific hate crime,” he said.

The town council, through a Committee of the Whole has been conducting its own investigation into the incident.
In November 2017′s election, flyers were distributed across Edison, featuring photos of school board members Jerry Shi and Falguni Patel, with "deport" and "Make Edison Great Again!" stamped on it.
The flier said that "The Chinese and Indians are taking over our town!"
Lankey said the flyer aimed at sowing discord and division in town.
“Enough is enough,” said Lankey.
“Too many people, have worked too hard, for too long, to make Edison the progressively diverse community that it is today. A handful of deplorable individuals will not change that and must be brought to justice!”
