Edison Offers Podcast, Filmmaking Classes For Students
The upcoming virtual spring session offers students classes in podcast, filmmaking and business entrepreneurship.
EDISON, NJ — Are your children interested in creative arts? This spring, the Edison Recreation Department has just the right program for them.
The Edison Recreation Department is partnering with Built by Me for the upcoming session of virtual spring classes.
Built by Me, a platform dedicated to help children build skills in STEM learning, is offering an intro level podcasting class, business entrepreneur bootcamp, and filmmaking level 1 and 2 classes.

The program begins April 13 and runs for six to eight weeks. Each class is an hour to an hour and half, every week.
The podcasting class will explore the basics of a podcast and the power of storytelling. Students will learn how to create a podcast – from planning and scripting to editing and publishing. At the end of the program, each student will have completed a podcast on a subject of their choice. Program is open to students in grade four to seven.

The filmmaking classes introduces students to the art of filmmaking using stop-motion techniques. They will learn how to make a short stop-motion movie, including writing a script, drawing a storyboard, developing characters, making puppets, shooting scenes, editing, and adding sound effects.
