Edison Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver In Serious Accident

A 64-year-old female pedestrian from Edison was struck while crossing Woodbridge Avenue on Saturday, authorities said.

EDISON, NJ — The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edison Police Department are investigating a serious hit-and-run accident that occurred on Woodbridge Avenue at Plainfield Avenue, Edison.

On Saturday, June 12 around 5:26 p.m., a 64-year-old female pedestrian from Edison was struck while crossing Woodbridge Avenue by a late model Mazda SUV, possibly a CX30 or CX5, police said.

According to authorities, the vehicle left the scene of the accident heading eastbound on Woodbridge Avenue at high speed without stopping.

The woman sustained head and body injuries and is currently in stable condition in ICU at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, said police.

Edison Police released a photo of the possible hit-and-run car.

Police are asking the public’s help or anyone who may have been in the area of Woodbridge Avenue and Plainfield Avenue around the time of the accident or may have seen the vehicle leaving the area.
