EDISON, NJ — Flooding closed all lanes of I-287 in Edison for nearly an hour Monday afternoon, NJ DOT says (see video below of flooding).
The roadway was entirely closed north of Exit 1 - Route 1 in Edison between 12:30 p.m. and 1:25 p.m. on Monday, with delays of up to 90 minutes. As of 1:27 p.m., the left lanes in both directions remain closed, and delays have begun to ease.
State police confirmed to Patch that some drivers had become stuck as a result of the flooding, and several had to be towed away. An exact number of people stuck was not immediately available, and there were no injuries as a result of the flooding in that area.
