Man Who Shot At Edison Cops Charged With Attempted Murder: PD

A Rahway man has been charged following a Friday incident where shots were fired in an Edison neighborhood, officials said.

EDISON, NJ — A Rahway man has been charged with attempted murder after exchanging gunfire with Edison police officers, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet said.

Randy R. Jackson, 23, of Rahway, was arrested shortly after the Friday shooting, Kuberiet said. The shooting forced a local elementary school into lock-down, and could be heard by the surrounding neighborhood.

Edison police were called to Mr. Tire on Route One for "assistance regarding a dispute" Friday morning, Kuberiet said. When police arrived, Jackson fled into the Open Road Mini-Cooper of Edison parking lot before firing two shots at police, Kuberiet said.
