Metuchen High School Students To Return For In-Person Classes
Students in the hybrid track can now choose to attend in-person learning. The district said it plans to "pilot" this reopening for a month.
METUCHEN, NJ — Beginning Jan. 25, students from Metuchen High School (MHS) will be able to return for in person classes, the district announced.
In a message to the school community, school superintendent Vincent Caputo said "current hybrid students at MHS will be given the chance to attend in-person both weeks.”
This does not change the schedule for students who’ve opted for all-remote learning, and students will retain their A/B week status.

Just last week, the school district expanded the program to include family members of students and staff. The test is provided free of cost to those without insurance. So far the district has administered around 275 tests.
Meanwhile, neighboring school districts like Edison and East Brunswick have postponed return to in-person classes due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in their towns.
Edison school district was scheduled to return on Jan. 19, but has now pushed back the date to Feb.1.
