Metuchen's 'Team Vaccine' To Help Residents Secure Appointments
Under the new program, volunteers from Metuchen will help eligible residents secure vaccine appointments.
METUCHEN, NJ — As the COVID-19 vaccination rate in New Jersey increases, the state continues to face issues with rollout.
Although more people have now become eligible to receive the vaccine, there are many residents, especially seniors, who still face problems securing appointments.
To help eligible residents gain access to the vaccine, Metuchen has now introduced the ‘Team Vaccine’ program.

Proud to announce TEAM VACCINE - a new @MetuchenNJ program designed to help eligible neighbors gain access to the vaccine. We know how hard & stressful it is for people to get an appointment. So, we've put together a crew dedicated to helping neighbors secure an appointment asap. pic.twitter.com/V8AnOPkHSh

“We know how hard and even stressful it has been for some eligible residents to obtain a vaccine appointment,” Busch said in a Facebook post.
“In response, we have assembled a group of dedicated and resourceful residents willing to help eligible Metuchenites secure an appointment as soon as possible.”
To secure an appointment, residents first need to determine if they are eligible. Once eligibility is confirmed, they need to fill out a form providing volunteers with a few details. Click here to access the form.
Residents also need to be registered with the state's vaccine registry.
However, a vaccine appointment is not guaranteed, officials clarify. Volunteers will do their best to try and secure one, but it depends on factors like availability and how far is the resident is willing to travel to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
