Multi-Mile Turnpike Delays Monday Morning

BREAKING: Take the Turnpike to work? You might want to consider another route.

EDISON, NJ — Commuters who take the Turnpike can expect multi-mile delays Monday morning due to a jack-knifed tractor trailer.

The crash happened on the southbound lanes near Exit 11 in Edison, where Routes 440 and 287 meet the Turnpike, NJ DOT says. There are major delays in both directions: drivers can expect to sit in up to two miles of traffic on both sides of the highway.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or if there were any injuries.

Drivers can expect other delays on the Turnpike as well:

  • As of 8:06am, there are Delays on the New Jersey Turnpike - Eastern Spur southbound from Interchange 18E - I-80/US 46/George Washington Bridge to Interchange 15X - Secaucus Train Station in Secaucus 1 1/2 mile delay.
  • As of 8:05am, there are Delays on the New Jersey Turnpike - Western Spur southbound in the vicinity of Interchange 15W - I-280 in Kearny 2 mile delay.
  • As of 7:53am, there are Delays on the New Jersey Turnpike inside exit Interchange 13 - I-278/Goethals Bridge in Linden.
  • As of 7:53am, there are Delays at the Lincoln Tunnel westbound from New York in Manhattan . The travel time is 15 minutes from the New York side to New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E.
