Paul Cézanne an Armchair Art Tour

Join Michael Norris, a former museum educator for a talk of Paul Cézanne

On Saturday, November 10 at 2pm, the South Plainfield Library welcomes back Dr. Michael Norris of Armchair Art Tours and former museum educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for his final talk in the post-impressionist series. This talk is about Paul Cézanne. Paul Cézanne (1839-1906): A native of Provence, Cezanne began as an Impressionist painter who later pursued his own inexpressible artistic goals, which included revealing an underlying geometry in his subject matter. Cézanne's often repetitive, exploratory brushstrokes are highly characteristic and clearly recognizable. He used planes of color and small brushstrokes that build up to form complex fields. The paintings convey Cézanne's intense study of his subjects. Come celebrate art and view amazing artwork with Dr. Norris and the South Plainfield Public Library! This program is presented free, but registration is required. Please register by calling the library at 908-754-7885 or stop by.
