Rolled Ice Cream Shop Opening In Metuchen

METUCHEN, NJ — A new rolled ice cream spot is opening up in Metuchen. Luigi's Ice Cream currently has a Red Bank location.

Their Metuchen spot will open at 349 Lake Ave, but an opening date has not been set. The shop serves rolled ice cream, a Thai desert where topping are mixed into cold cream, then frozen into sheets on a sort of frozen griddle. Once frozen, the cream is rolled into strips and put into a cup with even more toppings (see a video of how it works below).

The Red Bank location earned rave reviews on Facebook:

• Great location. Delicious and unique rolled ice cream, among other ice cream options. Most importantly, an amazing staff who are personable, kind, patient, aware and thorough, especially regarding nut allergies. Highly recommend for all ages.
• Bright User Friendly Atmosphere , seating inside and out . Vanilla is my favorite of course , with chocolate syrup, but a plethora of choices for the ice cream connoisseur with fresh fruit toppings and even a glazed donut ice cream sandwich!
• My fiancé and I were on vacation in red bank a little while ago and we happened upon their newly opened store, it was delicious and the flavors are so fun. Cereal milk kept me coming back until we left! The owner is also incredibly sweet and so fun to talk too. I highly recommend a visit!
