Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours In Edison-Metuchen

EDISON, NJ - While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn’t mean we’re less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It’s a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there’s a list of grocery stores that will be open in Edison and Metuchen for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

In contrast to previous years, retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement released on its website, Target said the company’s goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free.”

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won’t:

Rite Aid: The majority of stores will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm hours.

ShopRite: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm timings.

• 775 US-1, Edison, NJ 08817

Stop & Shop: New Jersey, New York and Connecticut stores will be open until 5 p.m.

• 1083 Inman Ave, Edison, NJ 08820, and 1049 US Highway 1 South, Edison, NJ 08837

Whole Foods: Hours vary by location. Many stores open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.
