Two New Spots To Grab Brunch At Without Going Into NYC
Hatch44 Cafe & The Edison Automat are serving up NYC-worthy brunch options

Hatch44 Cafe, located at 140 Durham Ave in Metuchen, opened in November of last year, but we just can't get enough of it! This cafe is open from 8 am until 3 pm daily and is the perfect place to grab breakfast, lunch, or brunch, as well as a cup of coffee. Hatch44 uses only USDA certified eggs from a local NJ farm, where poultry is grown naturally. They aim to give their customers sustainable and organic options and hope to soon be fully farm-to-table. The cafe serves eggs of course (hence their name), pancakes and waffles, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pizza, and empanadas, to name a few options. Hatch44 also serves a variety of coffee beverages, tea, and milkshakes. Check out their menu here, as well as their Instagram.

The Edison Automat is located in what was previously Sunnyside Deli, but with a complete revamp, at 1963 Oak Tree Road in Edison. This eatery opened a little more recently, this past April. They are open 7 am-4 pm everyday except Sunday, 8 am-2 pm. The Edison Automat is a great addition to the town, which is quite lacking in coffee shops and cafes to hang out, study, or work in. Another plus is that they serve breakfast all day, as well as lunch! If you're confused about the name, it is not actually an automat, but the owners were inspired by the vending machines and then decided to incorporate Thomas Edison for historical purposes. This cafe is serving up a variety of breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and french toast, omelettes, sandwiches, salads, as well as coffee, espresso, and tea. View their menu and Facebook page here.
