EDISON, NJ — Gritty's not the only NHL mascot with a propensity for chaos anymore: The New Jersey Devil was caught on camera breaking a glass window after a children's birthday party in Edison.
The glass-smashing happened during Lawrence Chiu's 5-year-old son's birthday party at a local gymnasium in Edison over the weekend. At first, the Devil is playing nicely with the other children, helping wave a large parachute.
But something changes when he drops the parachute, pauses for a second, and then runs into the window.

The room goes quiet, and the Devil just stares at the window, putting his hand on his head in an expression of "whoops."
Chui took the incident in stride, sharing the video on his Twitter account and writing, "My son’s birthday ended with a bang! We are so ready for this season thanks NJ Devil for coming to the birthday party."

No one was hurt in the chaos, Chiu wrote on Twitter, adding that everyone at the party had a great time. Chiu did not respond to Patch's request for comment, but seemed to enjoy the attention from other media outlets, quipping, "My son is famous lol."
The New Jersey Devil's were in on the fun too, sharing the video on their Instagram page.
