One New Jersey Transit rider said he spent part of his Tuesday morning commute next to a wide open train door, even as the train went over bridges.
A video shared on Twitter by a user named Geo shows the doors to the train car wide open as the train travels over a bridge. It's not clear where exactly the train was at the time, but the user said he was taking the Northeast Corridor into New York City. Gio told Patch that conductors were quick to lock and bar the door closed.
In a statement issued to news outlets, NJ Transit said they take these types of events seriously.

"We are aware of this incident and it is under investigation. While these types of incidents are extremely rare when considering the thousands of door openings/closings on NJ TRANSIT trains daily, NJ TRANSIT takes each of these cases extremely seriously. As soon as the train crew became aware of the situation, the door was immediately closed and locked and the train was taken out of service when it arrived at its final destination of Penn Station New York. The train was then taken to the shop for a full inspection," NJ Transit said in a statement.
