Weiss Realty, Edison Community Team Up with Frappe Joe
Local Restaurant Donating Food, Coffee to JFK Medical Center During COVID-19 Pandemic

Edison, NJ (March 2020) – It’s no secret that small businesses are suffering in midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Meanwhile, there are those that have stepped up efforts to service the health care heroes on the front line. Jaime Weiss, managing member of Colonial Village Associates, LLC and Weiss Realty, the center’s leasing and managing agent, couldn’t be prouder of its tenant Frappe Joe Coffee who is responding to the Corona Virus pandemic by helping defer food and delivery costs in delivering meals, snacks and coffee at no charge to healthcare workers on the frontlines at nearby JFK Medical Center Emergency Room.
Shetal Shah, owner and operator of Frappe Joe Coffee, has been generously sending over free coffee and other goods this past year since opening in October 2019 when possible to the ER staff. When Shetal heard of the COVID-19 case overload he wanted to help the emergency hospital staff even more. When word got out via social media of the efforts by Frappe Joe Coffee, the surrounding community stepped in so instead of closing their doors during the pandemic he was able to allocate hours to keep his full staff on and service the ER with free meals, drinks and snacks during this profoundly difficult time. The cost is being underwritten by donations by the community “The outpouring of human kindness from the community allows us to keep servicing the Gods and Godesses working on the front lines” commented Shetal. “Going outside for food isn’t an option for the ER medical staff right now and we recognize the important work that these healthcare workers are doing.”
Managing Member, Jamie Weiss, has been so energized by this amazing story that he has decided to support his tenants cause further. The staff at JFK Medical Center patronize his tenants regularly under normal conditions. Now, the same regular customers need the tenants at Colonial Village more than ever. As landlord, Jamie Weiss is matching donations up to $500 per week for the next 6 weeks, to be shared amongst his takeout restaurant tenants to co-sponsor deliveries.
