Flemington Voters Approve School Security, AC Upgrades
The referendum asked residents to approve security upgrades at 6 schools and air conditioning at 5 schools.

FLEMINGTON, NJ — Flemington residents approved a multi-million dollar plan to bring security upgrades and air conditioning to several schools.
Voters approved the first proposal 494 to 337. They approved the second proposal 482 to 348.
There were two proposals regarding safety, security and structure and air quality at several elementary, middle, and intermediate schools in the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District.

The $21.7 million security proposal means security upgrades and improvements, including cameras, door and alarm upgrades, and communications systems will be done at Barley Sheaf, Copper Hill, Francis A. Desmares, J.P. Chase, Reading Fleming, and Robert Hunter schools. Roofs and windows will be replaced at several schools, as well.
The $20.3 million air quality proposal will see that air-conditioning control upgrades are installed at Barley Sheaf, Cooper Hill, Francis A. Desmares, Reading Fleming, and Robert Hunter schools.

In related news, six people ran for two, three-year seats on the Borough Council. Two people ran for a one-year unexpired term on the council. One person ran unopposed to represent Flemington on the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District.
