Flemington Teacher Named Hunterdon County Teacher Of The Year

She is a special education teacher n the Flemington-Raritan School District.

FLEMINGTON, NJ — A local middle school teacher was named the Hunterdon County Teacher of The Year.

Therese Squicciarini is a special education teacher at J.P. Case Middle School in the Flemington-Rartian School District.

The state Department of Education Wednesday announced the 21 finalists, one from each of New Jersey's 21 counties, for the Teacher of The Year award.

"These teachers reflect the exemplary quality of educational leadership that we see throughout our state," Gov. Phil Murphy said in a statement.

The 21 county Teachers of the Year will network with New Jersey educators and serve as ambassadors for the state's schools, officials said.

A panel of educators will select the Teacher of the Year based on applications, video submissions, and interviews with the top six finalists. The winner will be announced at the State Board of Education's October meeting.
