HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ — A longtime Hunterdon County closing store will close Dec. 31 after 40 years in business, according to a report on NJ.com.

The women's closing boutique Addicted Jeans Store & Mary's on Main Street in Clinton will consolidate with its sister store, Addicted Chic, in The Shoppes of Flemington, according to the report.

The mother-daughter team of Mary Kayler and Annie Rossi own the boutiques. Rossi said in the report that Clinton is "not a place that women go to shop for clothes anymore," according to the report.

"Sometimes the former needs to pass away to let the new spring forth and be even stronger," Rossi told NJ.com. "So I do feel we're going to be even better and stronger and be able to serve our community, and the beautiful women of Hunterdon County, even better."

The store is offering a 25-to-70-percent-off sale on certain items until the closing, according to a post on hunterdoncountynews.com.
