Someone Is Stealing Water From Flemington Fire Hydrants
Using water disturbs sediment in the lines, causing the water to appear dirty, officials said.
FLEMINGTON, NJ — People have been using borough fire hydrants and stealing water from them, officials said.
Doing this "causes an enormous flush of water disturbing sediment in the lines causing the water to appear dirty," officials said on the borough website.
People who have dirty or discolored water should allow their faucets to run for a few minutes to flush out the lines.
