Small Earthquake Rattles Parts Of NJ
The U.S. Geological Survey registered a small earthquake in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. Did you feel anything?
MILFORD, NJ — Did you feel something? The U.S. Geological Survey registered a small earthquake Thursday morning in North Jersey.
The 2.1-magnitude earthquake centered around the Milford area in Hunterdon County at about 6:55 a.m., officials said. The U.S. Geological Survey — an agency that tracks earthquakes worldwide — received nine reports from people who said they felt it. Five are from Milford, four from Black Eddy, Pennsylvania, and one from Somerset.
Several people commented on the Hunterdon County Weather Facebook page that they felt or heard it.

"Pretty sure I heard it," one person said. "I thought someone was using the massage chair in our living room."
"I guess that’s why I got woken up all of a sudden at that time!" said another commenter.

New Jersey has only registered two other earthquakes this year, according to earthquaketrack.com. A Frenchtown earthquake Aug. 17 registered at 1.7 magnitude, while another around East Freehold hit 3.1 on the scale.
